Discover the excitement of printing with the sun! In this workshop we will make cyanotype prints and a group mural.
Invented by Sir John Herschel in 1842, Cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic processes creating beautiful blueprints. A contact printing process, iron salts are coated on a substrate, exposed by the sun, then developed by water. Students will print on fabric and paper working with found objects and organic materials. A simple process that teaches the magic of photography, a process that draws with light.
